Windows Installation

Prerequisites. 64-bit Windows 10 or later, 4 GB RAM, ~300 MB free disk space. Ensure you have a supported wallet extension or a hardware wallet for subscription payment.

1. Download. Get the latest .exe from the Windows release page.
2. Verify. Compare the SHA-256 checksum and verify the PGP signature as described on Verifying Downloads.
3. Install. Double-click the installer and follow the prompts. You may be asked for admin approval (UAC). Optionally enable auto-updates.
4. Firewall/Network. If prompted, allow bervice to communicate on private networks. Corporate devices should honor proxy/CA settings automatically.
5. First Launch. Open bervice from the Start menu. Choose Create a new vault or Restore existing.
6. Key Generation. Create a strong master password. Keys are generated locally and never leave your device. Save the recovery seed or key file in a safe location.
7. Subscription. Connect your wallet and activate your plan. Transactions are processed on-chain; the app will confirm once finalized.
8. Sync & Test. Add a test password or file, confirm encryption and sync, and optionally enable tray/startup settings.

Silent/Enterprise Install (optional). The installer supports unattended mode with common flags (e.g., /S). See Windows Deployment for MSI/INTUNE details.

Updating. Auto-update is enabled by default. You can turn it off in Settings → Updates and update manually from the release page.
